The 2021er Thörnicher Ritsch Riesling Kabinett Feinherb “Monster” was made from fruit picked at 76° Oechsle in the prime south-facing western part of the vineyard and was fermented down to off-dry levels of residual sugar (34 g/l). It offers a gorgeous nose of green apple, mint, grapefruit, lime, white flowers, chalk, and smoke. The wine is quite light-feathered and lean on the palate where a vibrating kick of acidity makes for a focused feel in the almost dry-tasting finish. More zest and mint add to the freshness and delineation in the long finish. This is a gorgeous off-dry Kabinett made in a firmly zesty yet playful style! 2026-2036  92 points"

"The 2021 Thörnicher Ritsch Kabinett feinherb "Monster" opens with a coolish, crystalline, still reductive and purely stony but also fruit-intense bouquet with ripe stone fruit aromas. Round and lush on the palate, this is a fine and elegant Kabinett with crystalline and savory acidity. The wine is juicy, crisp and finely grippy but still young and will benefit from further bottle aging. 8% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in October 2022."
