"The 2023 Chablis “Forêts” from Domaine Louis Michel is also excellent on both the nose and palate. The bouquet hops from the glass in a beautiful blend of pear, apple, a hint of tangerine, chalky soil tones, a nice touch of flintiness and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and complex, with a juicy core of pure fruit, lovely soil signature and a long, well balanced and zesty finish. This is a touch more forward than the Montmains out of the blocks and would be one of the premier crus here that I would tackle first."
