"Impenetrable reduction overwhelms the underlying fruit today. Once again, the mouthfeel of the strikingly intense medium weight flavors is super-sleek while brimming with minerality on the explosively long finish that is akin to rolling small pebbles around in the mouth. I was seriously impressed with the potential of this equally classy and refined effort."

"The 2019 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has an intense nose, although I find more terroir expression in the La Combette or the Meursault Charmes. Maybe this was just going through a dumb phase of its élevage. The palate is fresh and vibrant with impressive depth. Quality is stacked on the finish, which is extremely well defined and demonstrates enormous length. I suspect that the aromatics will open once this is in bottle and given adequate aging."

"Picked early in the piece, but not suffering like the Combettes. Beautiful complete nose, showing the majesty of Perrières without any undue heat. A few pears can be coaxed out, really special. There is everything here including good natural acidity. Understated, and really fine. Plus the length! Just the right oaking too, as it has been raised in young barrels though not new."
