Domaine Martelet De Cherisey - Blagny 1er Cru La Genelotte 2016 (750ml)

A pungently earthy nose features notes of plum, dark berries, humus and the sauvage. There is a bit more refinement to the relatively sleek middle weight flavors that possess good richness on the sappy and ever-so-mildly austere finale where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This is really quite good and is a wine that could already be enjoyed though I would personally opt for cellaring it for a few years first as more depth should develop. (Drink starting 2023)
