“The 2022 D2 is a blend of 56% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, matured for 20 months in 47% new French oak. Opaque ruby-purple in the glass, it has pure scents of chocolate-covered cherries, lavender, thyme and mint. The full-bodied palate is elegantly styled with mineral-laced flavors, powdery tannins, juicy acidity and a long, layered finish.”

“The 2022 D2 is mostly Merlot (although there's more Malbec than usual), and it’s a deep ruby/purple hue, with beautiful redcurrant and subtly blue fruits interwoven with notes of lead pencil shavings, leather, and savory herbs. It's medium-bodied and has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and outstanding length. This classy, balanced, impressive D2 will evolve for 10-12 years.” (JD)
