Here is the full list of everything we've offered this week including some very special offers you might have missed. Cheers! - The Plucky Team Domaine du Cayron - Gigondas, Southern Rhone, France 2019 Jeb Dunnuck - 94 Points! - Tasted out of bottle, the 2019 Gigondas is another gem and reminds me a little of the 2010, only with a touch more accessibility at this stage. Classic crème de cassis, sappy garrigue, pepper, and basil notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, pure, concentrated Gigondas revealing ripe tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. As with the 2020, the blend is 78% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 6% Cinsault, and 2% Mourvèdre that was destemmed and brought up in old foudre. Newsletter Special - $28.99
Cora - Pinot Grigio 'Colline Pescaresi' IGT, Abruzzo, Italy 2020 Incredible Value High Quality Pinot Grigio - Fresh, Fun, Uncomplicated Deliciousness! Cora Pinot Grigio comes from 100% estate-grown fruit in the heart of Abruzzo, including some older vines planted in pergola abruzzese. They are certified sustainable for their farming practices-- no herbicides; no irrigation; limiting copper use, soil compaction, and CO2 emissions. The best part is, it's delicious! We're absolutely blown away by the quality of fruit, the 2020 is a pure expression of both the varietal and region. Aromas of white flowers, crisp pear, golden apple, and honeysuckle. The palate is dry, wonderfully fresh, with clean fruit, clean minerals, and a touch of salinity. An excellent everyday quaffer that would be amazing with lighter pasta dishes, soft cheeses, or grilled fish. Newsletter Special - $8.99
Andrea Oberto - Barolo, del Comune di La Morra, Piedmont, Italy 2016 WA93/V91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 93 Points "The Andrea Oberto 2016 Barolo del Comune di La Morra offers immediate aromas with floral intensity all backed by delicate tones of dark fruit, tar and licorice. Those floral tones recall rose, lavender and a touch of fragrant lilac. The wine is graceful, slender and enduring. It just keeps humming along with streamlined but focused intensity." Newsletter Special - $29.95
Abram's Bridge - Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2019 One of Napa's Finest 'Under the Radar' Cabernet Sauvignon's - Our Highest Quality Napa Cab Under $40 We're pleased to share with you one of our favorite Napa Cabernets under $40. We can't reveal the winemaker or the vineyards used to make this Cabernet based Bordeaux style blend, but we can guarantee this is incredibly well made by one of the regions premier winemakers, and is thoughtfully crafted from both robust valley fruit and the lively mineral rich mountain vineyards. No matter who made it, or where it came from, it's absolutely delicious - expect flavors of rich black fruit with warming spices, dark chocolate with coffee tones, and leathery earth. There is a wonderful balance to the wine expressing both elegance and muscle, tannins are well-integrated and velvety smooth, and the acidity from the mountain fruit brings great energy to the palate. It really doesn't get much better than this at this price-point, highly recommended! Newsletter Special - $34.99
Azienda Agricola F. Tornatore - Etna Bianco "Pietrarizzo" Sicily, Italy 2019 Wine Enthusiast 95 Points - #33 Top 100 of 2020! "Made predominantly from Carricante with a drop of Catarratto, this smooth, stunning white offers delicate, enticing scents of Spanish broom, chamomile, ripe white-stone fruit and a whiff of smoke. Savory and loaded with elegance, the medium-bodied, focused palate features juicy Meyer lemon, ripe Bartlett pear, golden apple and tangy, saline mineral notes. Bright acidity lends tension and balance. Drink through 2025." -Kerin O’Keefe Newsletter Special - $24.99
Rocca di Montegrossi - Chianti Classico, Tuscany, 2019 D92/JS92/V91+ Decanter - 92 Points - "Owner Marco Ricasoli recalls the harvest of 2019 as unusually calm – one of the few in which he didn’t have to base his picking strategy on the weather forecast. While his wines never lack freshness, the 2019 is positively racy! Scents of blackberry and fennel are interlaced with smoke, and the palate brings together brambly fruit with fleshy red plum. This is mouthfilling and clean, with ripe, smooth tannins that are chalky textured - plus all of that vibrant acidity." Now on Sale! - $17.99 Special Offers Domain Pinson - Chablis 1er Cru "Montmain" 2019 Wine Enthusiast: 95 Points - "Reflective of a hot, dry vintage, this richly concentrated, weighty expression of Montmains is a departure from the site's typically sheer, mineral-focused wines. Vinified in stainless steel but matured in seasoned French oak, it's a penetrating sip marked by pulsating tangerine and quince flavors interlaced with cream, sweet spice and smoky minerality. This powerful wine should improve through 2035 and hold further." Special Offer - $39.99
Ken Wright - Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Freedom Hill Vineyard 2019 (Pre-arrival) Vinous 94 - Limpid violet. Expansive, spice-tinged red and dark berry aromas are complemented by suggestions of pungent flowers, vanilla and a hint of smokiness. Appealingly sweet and broad in the mouth, offering sappy blueberry, cherry cola and candied rose flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity. The floral and spice notes repeat on a long, spicy and youthfully tannic finish that strongly echoes the floral and cherry notes. 23% new French oak Special Offer - $49.99 Cheers! -Alex Alexander Knechel - Certified Sommelier Wine Sales Manager - Plucky Wines alexanderknechel@pluckywines.com
