About Germain-Robin - They began as the unlikely union of two creative minds: Ansley Coale, a professor driving along a Northern California highway, and Hubert Germain-Robin, a hitchhiking Cognac distiller. The two created Germain-Robin, the first California Brandy that broke free from the constraints of Cognac. This Germain-Robin flagship expression showcases California-grown Colombard grapes, a standard in traditional brandy making. Distilled exclusively in Pruhlo Charentais Pot Stills and aged in Limousin Oak Barrels, Germain-Robin highlights the flavors that make California Brandy one of the most sought after aged spirits.

Distillers Notes: Germain-Robin is met with a nose of oak spice and fruit. The fruit forward notes of apple and pear are lightly accented with honeysuckle and cherry blossom, giving way to a rich apricot and peach flavor. Well integrated toasted oak gives light accents of cinnamon and brown sugar. The rich full mouthfeel lingers after finish in this balanced blend.

'Acero', the Spanish word for steel, refers to the fact that this wine has never seen any oak. All fermentation is done in stainless steel to capture the purity of the varietal and terroir. 100% Estate grown fruit, specially selected for intensity and aromatics. The result is crisp Chardonnay with clean flavors of green apple, lemon zest with subtle floral notes of jasmine tea and white flowers. Malolactic fermintation adds a creamy roundness to the palate, intense but smooth, balancing the bright acidity, and lifting the refreshing mineral rich finish.
