Godelia - Mencia, Bierzo, Spain 2016 The Perfect Expression of the El Bierzo Mencía. This is a wine with a high fruit concentration, where we find a great richness of nuance - rich red fruit, violets and mineral notes, which blend perfectly with the barrel spice from oak aging. On the palate, it is fresh, fleshy, and elegant with a great finish. A stellar example of the varietal. Wine Enthusiast 92 Points - "This attractive Mencía from a terrific vintage opens with wiry black-fruit aromas offset by grainy oak. A linear palate feel is focused and balanced, with better than average depth. Dark plum, blackberry and mild oak flavors are integrated and finish smooth, with length and complexity. Drink through 2023."

Shaw + Smith - Chardonnay 'M3 Vineyards' Adelaide Hills, South Australia 2020 JH98/JS96/D94 98 Points - James Halliday's Wine Companion - "Sourced from 3 vineyards in Piccadilly, Lobethal and the estate’s high-elevation Lenswood block. Whole-bunch pressed, fermented and matured on lees in French barriques and puncheons. The first thing that strikes you is an elegance that is so fundamental to the style and respectful to the elite fruit within. The faintest of oak lifts adds a complexity to start, but the energy and concentration of the fruit become the prime focus on the palate. It's all about chardonnay's finest flavours and a vibrant acidity to drive it long into the future."

Bodega Catena Zapata - Cabernet Sauvignon - Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina 2018 JS93/WA92/V91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 92 Points - "2018 was a good year for Cabernet Sauvignon in the classical zone of Mendoza, and the peppery 2018 Appellation Agrelo Cabernet Sauvignon shows good ripeness and typicity. It is fresher than 2017 and with better-integrated oak too. It's fruit driven and juicy, with fine-grained tannins, very representative of the variety."

Domaine Equis [Maxime Graillot], Syrah "Equinoxe" Crozes-Hermitage, Rhone Valley, 2018 Vinous Media - 91-93 Points "Mineral-accented dark fruit and floral aromas are energized by a jolt of spicy black pepper. Fleshy, juicy and nicely concentrated, offering finely etched boysenberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors that tighten up on the back half. Densely packed yet energetic as well, finishing with sharp clarity, smooth tannins and strong persistence. Made from fruit grown on the granitic soils of Saint-Jean-du-Muzols." Lewelling - Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Helena, Napa Valley 2018 Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points - A killer wine as well as a smoking value, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon comes all from the estate vineyard outside of St. Helena and spent 20 months in 70% new French oak. Loads of crème de cassis, blueberries, toasted spices, and flowery incense make up the bouquet, and it hits the palate with a ripe, round, sweetly fruited, perfectly balanced style that’s already impossible to resist.
Newsletter Special - $59.99 Special Offers Ceretto - Barolo 2016 Wine Advocate: 95+ Points - Ceretto offers a tour de force in the 2016 vintage with four excellent single-vineyard expressions from Bricco Rocche, Bussia, Brunate and Prapò. If you can't choose between those wines, you always have this excellent fallback. The classic 2016 Barolo offers dark intensity with great aromatic detailing. Fruit and some floral notes are followed by ferrous notes and a good amount of powdered licorice. The aromas are delicate and fragile; however, the wine deftly hides its power within the soft folds of its slender, mid-weight mouthfeel. This is a perfect go-to Barolo when you can't choose from all the excellent options in this benchmark 2016 vintage.
Special Offer - $59.99 Booker Vineyard - Syrah Fracture 2018 98 points Jeb Dunnuck - Another magical wine, the 2018 Fracture is based on 100% Syrah brought up in new and used French oak. Deep purple-hued, with beautiful notes of crème de cassis, blackberries, vanilla bean, toasted spices, white flowers, and a hints of charcuterie, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, perfectly integrated oak, a rounded, lush mouthfeel, and a great finish. This unabashedly Paso Robles Syrah brings loads of fruit yet stays balanced, elegant, and is simply a thrill to drink.
Special Offer - $89.99 Scarecrow - Cabernet Sauvignon Monsieur Ètain 2019 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - The 2019 M. Étain is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sashays out of the glass with notes of violets, fallen leaves and incense over a warm cassis and plum preserves core, plus a waft of cardamom. Full-bodied, the ripe, opulent black fruit preserve flavors are beautifully framed by firm, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and seductively spicy.
