We love this wine as a case-worthy everyday drinker with aging potential for up to 15+ years. Newsletter Special - $14.99
Arrives Tuesday! 94 Points - James Suckling - “An alluring array of ripe red-berry and plum aromas with a floral, violet-like edge and appealing oak influence, too. The palate has a very plush, open feel with medium body and a fresh, juicy finish. Poached red-berry finish. So charming. Discreetly brilliant blending at work here. A blend of malbec 75% bonarda 19% and petit verdot 6%.” 92 Points - Tim Atkin - “One of the sweeter and more forward reds in the Catena range, this is an equal blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from the warmer areas of Agrelo and Lunlunta. Supple, smooth and deeply coloured, it has appealing mocha oak, layered cassis and blackberry fruit and supporting acidity on the finish.”
The 2019 D.V. Catena Tinto Historico is one of the great red blend values in the marketplace currently. Rated 91+ points by three different journals and a fantastic blend of Malbec, Bonarda, and Petit Verdot, this crushes a number of other red blends that cost well over three times the price. This is hands down our favorite Malbec for the price. A Blend of Four Vineyards - vineyards are divided into lots that are harvested at different times: Lunlunta 3,116 ft (920 m): aluvial origin. Loamy clay in the topsoil with rounded rocks on the bottom.
