Castagnoli Chianti Classico - Tuscany - 2016 Imported by Kermit Lynch, the Castagnoli Chianti Classico from the 98 point 2016 vintage has arrived! Castagnoli is a small estate in Castellina in Chianti on the western edge of the Chianti Classico DOCG. This estate possesses a striking terroir, one of Chianti’s most beautiful. Steep terraces, rich in minerals, are carved out of an amphitheater below the winery, contributing to a truly unique Chianti Classico experience. The wine presents elevated aromatics of blood orange, ripe raspberry, savory black olive, and there is a wonderful herbaceousness bringing layers of complexity. This is a ripe, robust wine, balanced with fresh acidity from the high elevation vineyards and a mineral rich elegance from the Estate's unique terroir.

Joseph Drouhin, Bourgogne Rouge and Blanc The style of Joseph Drouhin is an alliance between character, balance, history and harmony. Wines of true-to-terroir expression and elegance, and one of the best values in Burgundy!
"A wine full of charm: bright ruby color and a nose rich with aromas of red fruit (raspberry, red currants, wild strawberry). On the palate, the wine is pleasant, fruity and refreshing, with light tannins and great elegance". - Véronique Boss-Drouhin 2019 Bourgogne Rouge - $20.99
"Fruity and full of life. This is a classical white Burgundy and a good entry level wine for Burgundy in general. The color is golden yellow, with a greenish glint. The aromas are reminiscent of fresh apples and green almond. Elegant texture" - Véronique Boss-Drouhin 2019 Bourgogne Blanc - $16.99
L'Esprit De Chevalier, Pessac-Leognan, Bordeaux 2018 JD94/JS95/WE93 Jeb Dunnuck - 94 Points - "The second wine of this terrific estate in the Graves region of Bordeaux, the 2018 L'Esprit De Chevalier checks in as a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot that will spend 14 months in barrel. It offers a full-bodied, rounded, incredibly satisfying and sexy style as well as some exotic characteristics in its kirsch, blackcurrant, orange blossom, and liquid violet-like aromas and flavors. Elegant yet with ample fruit and texture, it’s ideal for drinking over the coming decade or more."
Newsletter Special - $29.99 Special Offers Romano Dal Forno - Valpolicella Superiore 2014 Vinous: 94 Points - The 2014 is a unique rendition of Dal Forno’s Valpolicella Superiore Monte Lodoletta. It's a remarkably pretty wine, displaying crushed ripe strawberries and plums with cinnamon, clove, vanilla bean and a cooling hint of mint. The textures are velvety, coating all that they touch in glycerol fruit concentration, yet somehow coming across as zesty and spry, contrasting weight with saturating notes of tart blackberry and savory spice. There’s a bit of a lull in the midpalate, yet it hardly takes away from the experience. At times, the Monte Lodoletta can seem almost salty, especially through its long, mouthwatering finish, where hints of cherry pits and herbs linger. This atypical yet truly enjoyable expression is the result of the extremely difficult 2014 vintage, when hail damaged and reduced the crop in the lower-elevation vineyards, followed by rain from August through September. As a result, Dal Forno decided not to produce their Amarone, and to instead focus all of their attention on the Valpolicella. The result is a wine that no Dal Forno fan should miss, but be aware that production was down 30% from an average year.

Château Lafon-Rochet - St.-Estèphe 2016 Vinous 95 Points - A sleeper in this vintage, the 2016 Lafon-Rochet is positively stellar. Bright, translucent and super-expressive, the 2016 has so much to offer. Lavender, tobacco, cedar, mint and dried herbs give the 2016 striking aromatic top notes to play off the darker fruit flavors. The 2016 is pure class. Don't miss it.
