______________________________ Vitiano Falesco 2016 91 Points James Suckling $9.99 on sale Best Buy Italian red of the Year! Wine Arrives Wednesday December 18th Rated 91 Points, James Suckling - “Rosemary, fresh blueberries and blackberries here. Full-bodied and fruity with juicy tannins and plenty of spicy undertones. Licorice on the finish. Cabernet sauvignon, sangiovese and merlot.” Nov-2019
Don't let this incredible Italian red bargain's low price fool you! At under $10 this succulent wine from the sunny Umbrian countryside way over delivers for the price. It is a blend of just about equal parts Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, grown in sedimentary clay/calcareous soils at about 200 meters of altitude. In the cellar, it's handled like a much pricier wine, fermented in stainless steel and then aged for three months in French oak barrels (Nevers). Featured at our Holiday wine tasting last week, it was hands down one of the top selling wines of the event! It has beautiful dark fruit, lovely aromatics, a round rich mouthfeel, soft, supple tannins, and a class, balance and quality that wines two and three times its price often fail to achieve. Ready to drink now and over the next several years at least, it is the perfect Pizza/Pasta/Burger wine, but will also pair well with pork, veal, chicken, duck breast, game birds, steaks and so much more. A "buy by the case, back up the truck" price and ample inventory make this an easy must buy wine. Stock up now for the Holidays! Wine arrives Wednesday December 18th. Cheers!
98 Point Tuscan Gem On Sale Querciabella 2015 Chianti Classico
$24.99 on sale It's back! Our best Chianti Classico selling ever! We sent this delicious Chianti Classico out almost a year ago and immediately sold it out, becoming our best selling Chianti ever! The great news is we just got word that there is more available. If you bought this in the past you know how great the wine is, and if you haven't, don't miss out. Supply is limited, and this time of year things disappear fast so don't delay. Great for your holiday table and as gifts for the Italian wine lovers on your list. Arrives early next week - Cheers!
There is no doubt whatsoever that the team at Querciabella has hit it out of the park with their delicious 2015 Chianti Classico. The press all agree, rating it as high as 98 points, but we didn't need the critics to tell us just how good this wine is. From the first wave of beautifully scented aromas of cherry and earth tones that enticed us as we poured it into the glass to its layered, supple, plum and red cherry fruit followed by deep, warm richness and texture on the palate, we knew this was a winner. Incredibly food friendly it's perfect with pizza, pasta, chicken, steaks or all on its own, and it won't break the bank.
It is crafted from 100% Sangiovese grown in vineyards in some of the best sites in the Chianti Classico region (Greve, Panzano, Radda and Gaiole) mainly composed of disintegrated turbidite sandstone and marly schist, with clay and slate at the highest altitudes. The vines have been Biodynamically farmed since 2000 and organically since 1988. Grapes are hand harvested, destemmed (never crushed) and gently fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel for about 12 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in fine to extra-fine grained 100% French oak barriques (225liters) and tonneau (500 liter) of which just 5% were new, adding beautiful complexity and texture without dominating the wine. Simply a beautiful, well proportioned and seamlessly structured wine, with classic Tuscan Sangiovese earth hints, red cherry notes and a plum-like dark center, all nicely support by ripe, supple tannins that make it very approachable now and to drink over the next 3-5 years. Don't miss out on this Tuscan beauty - order now! Wine arrives mid-November. Chris Cree MW, PluckyWines Cellar Note 98/100 Daniele Cernilli ____________________________
Hands Down the Best Value in Sparkling Wine! Wine Arrives Mid-Week Bruno Dangin Crémant de Bourgogne "Cuvée Blanche"
$23.99 per bottle on sale* *Lowest price in the country - Wine Searcher Don't miss out on our absolute favorite under $25 bubbly, Bruno Dangin's delicious Crémant de Bourgogne Cuvée Blanche. This incredible value is better than many non-vintage "true" Champagnes, but this is about half the price!
When our importer gave us the inside track that he was able to secure a little more of Domaine Dangin's deliciously affordable Crémant de Bourgogne, we grabbed all we could. We'd been trying to get our hands on this value priced Champagne look-alike for several years, but the minuscule amount that was imported each year was essentially glommed up as a by-the-glass exclusive by a three-starred Michelin restaurant in NYC. We finally got a small allocation last year, and duly sold out. But this year we made the preferred list big time with a decent supply (except half bottles which are sold out), and we can happily sell away! And we got a great price too, with today's offer the lowest price anywhere in the world except one shop in Spain, off by less than a dollar. At just around half the price of a good Champagne, this is THE bubbly to stock up on for holiday enjoyment and gift giving! In stock now, more arriving weekly. So just why is this little sparkler so good? First, the winery and vineyards are located in the Department of the Côte d'Or, just a couple of miles south of the Aube region of Champagne where the cool climate lends itself to making world class bubbly. The grapes are planted in Argilo-Calcaire from the Jurassique Supérieur era, lending a fine minerality and Champagne like crispness and racy focus to the wines, with beautiful apple tinged fresh fruit and a hint of brioche giving it an unmistakable Champagne character. Second, Bruno spares absolutely nothing in terms of doing it right. Farming is organic - ECOCERT Bio certified - and all done by hand, the vines are an average of 30 years old, and it is made from 100% Pinot Noir.
Third, the winemaking process exceeds even the minimum aging required in Champagne, and goes far beyond what is required by law for Crémant de Bourgogne, with the wines spending 30 months on the lees gaining finesse, elegance and a fine mousse typically only experienced on wines costing 2-3 times more. The bottom line here is this is a beautiful bubbly that will keep true Champagne lovers smiling without breaking the bank, and I can keep my New Year's resolution by enjoying this delicious Champagne ringer at an incredible bargain price!
